A seat at the table for everyone
City decisions should reflect the whole community. Amber will work to make sure every resident, in every neighborhood and walk of life, is genuinely heard and fairly served.
A neighbor running for Red Wing City Council who believes city government should listen to, and work for, every resident.
Amber Plank · for City Council, At Large
Amber Dawn Plank is a Red Wing mom, local advocate, and neighbor who believes our city is at its best when there's a seat at the table for everyone.
Amber has built her life here along the Mississippi raising a big, loving family, advocating for local citizens, and showing up for the people around her. She knows Red Wing's real strength is its people. Every neighborhood, every income, every background, every age and ability.
She's running for City Council At Large because too many residents feel unseen by the decisions made at City Hall. Amber will bring an open door, a listening ear, and a stubborn commitment to fairness, making sure the folks who are usually left out finally have a voice in the room.
Amber and her family spend much of their free time exploring the outdoors. Whether they're camping, visiting Minnesota's beautiful state parks, hiking local trails, or enjoying time on the river, a beach, or a bluffs summit, they believe some of life's best moments happen outside. Amber especially enjoys kayaking with her best friend, taking long hikes, and keeping an eye out for heart-shaped rocks along the way, a small tradition that reminds her to find beauty and connection in unexpected places.
Because of a recent ACL injury that will require surgery, Amber may be rolling through the community before she's walking or paddling through it. While her recovery will temporarily limit her ability to knock on residents' doors, it won't limit her commitment to listening and connecting with residents. In the meantime, she remains highly active and responsive on social media and welcomes conversations with anyone who wants to share their concerns, ideas, or hopes for Red Wing.
Outside of her family and community work, Amber is a passionate advocate for humanitarian issues. While not everyone agrees with her approach, she still believes meaningful progress often begins with difficult conversations. Her record shows a willingness to speak up for people who feel unheard and to stand alongside those who are too often targeted, marginalized, or overlooked. Amber is running because she truly wants a seat at the table for everybody.

Three commitments at the heart of this campaign: practical, people-first, and accountable to you.
City decisions should reflect the whole community. Amber will work to make sure every resident, in every neighborhood and walk of life, is genuinely heard and fairly served.
Open, honest, responsive government. That means clear communication, public decisions made in the open, and following through on what we promise, so you always know where your council stands.
Real life happens in the spaces that get overlooked. Amber will focus on the everyday needs: housing, safe streets, parks, and support for working families, that too often fall through the cracks.
The values that guide how Amber shows up. Her family, her neighbors, and her city.
A welcoming community where every neighbor is treated with dignity and respect.
Caring for one another, body and mind, is the foundation of a healthy city.
Red Wing is stronger when every family is free to be exactly who they are.
We look out for each other here, newcomers and lifelong residents alike.

Amber is running for the At Large seat on the Red Wing City Council, a four-year term running through January 2031. The two-candidate At Large race goes straight to the November ballot, so the day to vote for Amber is Tuesday, Nov 3.
Red Wing holds a primary for races with three or more candidates. With only two candidates for the At Large seat, that race skips the primary, so Amber is not on the August ballot.
No need to vote for Amber on Aug 11. Mark your calendar for Nov 3. Other local races may still be on your August ballot, so it's a great day to show up and vote.
This is the day to vote for Amber. The At Large council seat is decided here. Polls open 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
